Fenton’s Curling Rink, near Tunbridge Wells is hosting a “Come and Try” day on Sunday 4th December, from 10am to 4pm.
Fenton’s is the first and only curling ice rink in this country.
The sport of curling is an ancient Scottish game played on ice (without skates) sometimes known as “bowls on ice” as it is the same principle, just slide a stone down a sheet of ice and get it to stop near the centre of a set of rings, called the house. Your opposition will employ various tactics to prevent you achieving this goal, so the game contains elements of great skill, strategy, finesse, exertion and endeavour – sounds more energetic than bowls to me!
On Sunday 4th December you can have an hour’s curling with an instructor to show you the ropes for just £5! This is the perfect way to introduce beginners to curling and it quickly becomes addictive.
